Serious side effects from Adipex are not common. As the body adjusts to the new medication, however, some people may experience these effects for the first few days:
- dry mouth, or an unpleasant taste in the mouth
- bowel problems, such as diarrhea or constipation
- vomiting or other stomach upset
- drowsiness
If any symptoms last longer than a few days, call a doctor. The symptoms listed below are more serious. Contact a doctor if any of these symptoms should appear:
- increase in blood pressure
- palpitations (skipped beats) in heartbeat
- restlessness
- dizziness
- tremors
- difficulty sleeping
- swelling in legs or ankles
Sometimes, adjusting the dosage is enough to make side effects taper off or go away altogether.
